Interaction

What kind of interaction would the video require from your students? Does it force them to respond in some way (inherent)?

  • This video tells the difference between public goods and private goods. Since all the properties of these two goods are different, we will study them by comparison, so that it is easy to distinguish the characteristics of public goods. The main purpose of this video is to give examples to make the audience think, and then use tone to bring the audience into the video to think and interact.

In what way are they likely to respond to the video on their own, e.g. make notes, do an activity, think about the topic (learner-generated)?

  • Viewers take notes after watching the video, jot down key examples, and then reflect on them and give examples.

What activity could you suggest that they do, after they have watched the video (designed)? What type of knowledge or skill would that activity help develop? What medium or technology would students use to do the activity?

  • I suggest that they can do a quiz with multiple choices, so as to deepen their memory and better understand the content in the video. Students need to use computers to complete the online quiz. You need to use a website that offers an online quiz.

How would students get feedback on the activity that you set? What medium or technology would they and/or you use for getting and giving feedback on their activity?

  • After students pass the quiz, the correct answers and solutions to these questions will be shown. The questions aren’t hard, they can be designed to be fun. Students can improve their memory or gain confidence after knowing the correct answer.

How much work for you would that activity cause? Would the work be both manageable and worthwhile? Could the activity be scaled for larger numbers of students?

  • This activity will not require a lot of work. We just need to design interesting questions and explain them. After that, we can ask all the students who have watched the video to do the quiz, and then the website will automatically give answers and feedback.
