Today’s post is based on the article It’s Not Misinformation. It’s Amplified Propaganda.
Wow:
- The author explained to me a new word, “ampliganda”. It means to amplify the propaganda, When something is pushed to you, it may not just be misinformation, but the result of a recommendation by the app’s algorithm.
- The added hashtag in your comments or posts will be pushed by the algorithm to many people. I think it’s amazing that I’ve seen posts and hashtags that are completely different, but this post is recommended at the top of the list.
Wonder:
- When some misinformation is promoted to many people because the information has a popular hashtag. I wonder if platforms have an obligation to manage these misinformation posts. Whether the platform will manually delete tags or modify algorithms.
- If a misinformation post is misunderstood by many people, how much responsibility should the platform or author take, such as fines or imprisonment?
